Although it’s been less than a week since we got to feast our eyes on the Genesis G70 for the first time, the lucky dogs at Autoblog have already gotten their turn behind the wheel. Perhaps that’s what one gets for obsessively covering the auto industry. They approached the G70 with the same scrutiny, and discovered it’s not only a true sport sedan, but one its German competitors should be worried about.

The 2018 Genesis G70 has long-since been known to be the brand’s first sport sedan, but it wasn’t until yesterday that we saw what it would look like. It certainly looks the part, with a long hood, short greenhouse, and impressive styling cues. But looks aren’t going to help it against the likes of the big three German models, but what’s under the hood seems ready to make a strong case.
